Quechee Gorge, Alpaca Farms, and Gardens Galore!

What a day! Quechee Gorge, alpaca farms, gardens galore, and an enormous dam! Today was packed with adventure and breathtaking scenery.

I started off my day simple by organizing a Marilyn Monroe inspired photoshoot for me to do with my close friend Eliza. I pulled together some outfit ideas and other necessary supplies as well as some photos of Marilyn we could reference. Then the real fun began. I drove the 40 minutes to Quechee and started my photo-taking rampage.

I was deeply immersed in the views, I walked down the trails through some outstanding paths. One led me to a tremendous dam where I continued to run through my rolls of film. In one of my previous blogs I stated that photographer Ansel Adams' photos felt too out of reach for me because they were usually of outstanding landscapes out West. Today, I must contradict myself. Having access to stunning views really helped me to connect his work to my own.

Once I felt satisfied, I drove to the Quechee Gorge Village, a shopping center for those looking for all things Quechee. Oddly enough, on the side of the shopping center was an alpaca farm. Obviously I had to check it out and take more photos, maybe even feed a few alpacas…

After feeling a bit alpaca-ed out, I headed home. For the final part of my day I went to The Fells, an estate with fabulous gardens. I have been only once before, on a field trip with my 4th grade class, revisiting the gardens was wonderful, even though this trip was a bit less extraordinary than the gorge. Today really inspired me to find more nature scenes in New Hampshire or Vermont that could help me continue exploring my landscape potential.
